In today's ever more competitive world, partnership is a key to success.
Set up for industry by industry, Centrale Lyon accompanies firms in every stage of their development, from creating knowledge (fundamental research) and help in innovation through to the training of engineers. Likewise, the involvement of corporations is essential for the quality and development of the School's teaching projects.

Business : an essential resource at the heart of the life of the School

From small local businesses to global multinationals, corporations are an integral part of Centrale Lyon : CEOs sit on all the boards steering the School's development - Governing Board, Research Committee, etc... Companies take part in our strategic think-tanks, guaranteeing in particular that our training matches market requirements. An Enterprise Club is being set up to stimulate exchange and reflection on the School's major projects.

And last but not least, corporations are a significant and indispensable source of funding for the School, making up over 50% of our budget.

A major role in training engineers

In-firm placements, in France or abroad, play a prime role in training : 90% of our engineering students spend 9 to 10 months on internship during their studies.

Also, firms are very present on campus :
 involvement and testimonials from professional people during classes ;
 round-tables on trades or sectors ;
 presentation of career opportunities ;
 support to student associations, etc...

Everything possible is done to train executives who will be able to rise to tomorrow's new corporate challenges.

Firms investing in the labs

Most of the School's research units are associated with the CNRS national scientific research center, and combine fundamental and technological research.
With its research valorization subsidiary, Centrale Innovation, the School works on research contracts with big groups and small firms, files patents, and accompanies researchers in their start-up projects.
The laboratories of the School contract for over €6m a year (over €43,000 per research head!), and some have become outsources for industrial groups.
